About us
Pre-Marriage Education Auckland is an agency of Patrick Dunn, the Bishop of Auckland. We are affiliated with the Catholic Network of Marriage Educators (CNME) which is a nationwide organisation that represents the interests of the marriage educator volunteers of the six dioceses of New Zealand.

The aim of CNME is to strengthen and encourage marriage education through coordinating and providing high quality educational programmes and services. CNME is recognised and overseen by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference.
 
Our Staff
Tonny Flapper
Tonny FlapperTonny is the coordinator for Pre Marriage Education in the Diocese of Auckland. Married to Hans for 38 years, with whom she has helped prepare couples for their future as a married couple for over 20 years.

Her main tasks are:
  • Inform couples, facilitators and parish priests of the Marriage Preparation Programmes available, the scheduled time of these programmes and their content;
  • Promote and publicise Pre Marriage education; Provide sufficient programmes to meet the demand;
  • Assure that marriage programmes meet the required standard;
  • Provide full training for the leaders and facilitators of the programmes;
  • Represent Auckland Diocese at National meetings (CNME);
  • Make available and promote post wedding programmes.

SandraSandra Armstrong
Sandra is married to John celebrating 35 years of marriage this year. She acts as the Pre-Marriage Administrator and assists with a variety of tasks, including:
  • Assisting Tonny with the above;
  • Preparing material for the courses;
  • Hosting sessions;
  • Processing bookings/payments;
  • As support person for educators with stationery supplies;
 
The Marriage Preparation Team
The Marriage Preparation team consists of a highly motivated and dedicated team of 55 volunteer couples. These couples have been fully trained to facilitate the well-researched Marriage Preparation programmes.
